• Initial surveys, site investigations and preparation of detailed proposals to stabilize buildings suffering from subsidence or other structural defects. Our work includes liaison with insurers and loss adjusters, letting of contracts and the supervision of the work to completion.
• Detailed inspection of buildings for preparing Schedules of Dilapidations or Minimum Requirements Schedules for the termination and renewal of leases.
• Emergency attendance on structural damage to their retail stores for Halfords Ltd., followed by preparation of specifications for permanent repairs.
• Structural strengthening of an old timber-framed building to carry heavier office equipment and safes for National Westminster Bank, Maldon, Essex.
• Detailed inspections and identification of repair and maintenance needs for the buildings of the Sacred Heart Junior School, St Albans, including supervising load testing or pre-stressed pre-cast concrete floors in the main classroom block.
• Detailed inspection and preparation of a computerised 10-Year Planned Maintenance Programme for the entire non-residential building portfolio for Welwyn Hatfield Council, comprising some 200 buildings on 100 sites, and a similar programme for 36 Primary Schools for the London Borough of Wandsworth.
• Civil and Structural engineering design and site supervision of the construction of a new 250-bed hospital for the United Nations Agency UNRWA in Gaza.
• Project Management (in French) of the pre-feasibility study for a new International airport for Tunis.
• Project Management (working in the French language) of the civil and structural aspects of a new pharmaceutical project near Tunis on behalf of PED. Consultants, appointed by the Tunisian company SAIPH, for the design and validation of the plant.
• Provision of training courses in Planned Building Maintenance for senior Indian state architects and engineers on behalf of the British Council, funded by the Overseas Development Administration.
• Inspections of fire-damaged buildings to ascertain the need for temporary support or demolition, and the design and specification of structural repairs and re-building.
